Solitons in the Chern - Simons Inspired 1 + 1 D Field Theory

We present a Galilean invariant 1+1 dimensional B-F type field theory which arises in the dimensional reduction of the Chern-Simons gauged non-linear Schrödinger model in 2+1 dimension in the Bogomol’nyi limit. In this reduction, the B field couples with the matter field in a non-gauge covariant way and it is demonstrated that the model supports Galilean boosted solitons which saturate the Bogomol’nyi bound in static case. In addition, it allows other soliton solutions in the presence of backgrounds.
